Willow Road Cottage creatively refreshes home furnishings that for whatever reason were no longer "loved". Started in 2016 to save this furniture from landfills, Willow Road Cottage was launched as a way to bring beauty and updated finishes to worn and tired furniture. Through vision, acquired skills, and the application of professional finishing products, we can transform a piece from ho-hum to WOW!

Here is our most recent makeover. This buffet, while of great quality, was outdated and in serious need of an update to bring it in to today's decor aesthetics. This Henredon is enjoying renewed life in its new home.

I'M NOT A PAINT SLAPPER
There's a difference between "slapping paint on furniture" and being a furniture artisan. I am an artisan. I have dedicated the time, the work and the finances into learning the craft of creatively refreshing furniture (and frankly, other items, as well)...learning the do's and don'ts, the best practices, applying various techniques and investing in quality products that will stand the test of time. My goal is sending my customers home with furniture that will serve them for many, many years to come.
Should I be your artisan of choice to customize your piece, be assured I do not take shortcuts. If a request is beyond my skill set, I will make that known to you prior to taking the commission, and reserve the right to refer you elsewhere. However, those instances are extremely rare.
NOTE: I do not take commisions involving dining sets (table and chairs).

Creatively Refreshed Vanity
This Ethan Allen vanity/desk went from dated to fabulous in this update using a sophisticated color of Wise Owl One Hour Enamel and the addition of complimentary hardware.

Faux Metallic Credenza
Pairing a faux metallic finish using Wise Owl Heavy Metals Metallic Gilding Paint gave this ultra-traditional chest the unexpected wow factor. The end result was a piece that commanded attention!

French Country Lowboy
With the use of color blocking using Wise Owl One Hour Enamel in Weathervane and Jet Black, this dated style was immediately transformed with relevance for today's design trends. A simply stunning change.

Mid-Century Modern Buffet
Wow! This popular furniture style was screaming for an update and th sophistication of Wise Owl's Jet Black One Hour Enamel fulfilled the vision. The transformation was dramatic. This piece is enjoying its new home in a downtown Minneapolis loft apartment.

Petite Serpentine Chest
A serpentine chest that was once extremely dated received new life with a finish that included a textured stencil design on the drawer fronts, a custom-mixed color using Wise Owl Chalk Synthesis Paints, new legs and new hardware. The transformation was stunning!

Updated Buffet
This buffet has great lines and beautiful detail. This was a complete transformation using General Finishes Renovation Gray on the body and multiple shades of stain on the top and along the bottom band. Even the hardware was updated to pulls in a matte cocoa finish that match the scale of this piece.

Moody Floral Credenza
Out with the old; in with the new. This small chest recieved attention to every detail. Jet Black One Hour Enamel from Wise Owl, Moody Floral Decoupage Paper from Mint By Michelle, gold metallic wax on strategic curves and finished with all new hardware. Stunning!

MCM in Pink
Re-imagined for a girl's bedroom, this mid-century modern lowboy was made over into a visually stunning piece using a light pink enamel paired with lucite and gold hardware. This piece underwent a dramatic change, and all for the better!

Stone Finish Cabinet
When acquired, this piece had a door missing and an "orang-ish" finish. Using varying colors of Wise Owl Chalk Synthesis Paint and a texturizing product called Saltwash on the exterior and Wise Owl One Hour Enamel in Antique Villa inside, this piece underwent a major transformation.
